Gluten-free Bread

Gluten-free bread is undoubtedly the great hope for those coeliacs who love bread. Naturocenter is committed to those who love bread in all its forms and cannot enjoy it as regularly as they would like due its gluten content.

For this reason, as well as for your health´s sake, we want to share this wonderful gluten-free bread recipe with you. A tender, fluffy, great-tasting bread!

We will need::

  • Half a kilo of gluten-free bakery flour
  • Two teaspoons baking powder
  • A glass and a half of warm water
  • Two teaspoons of salt

Preparation:

For this delicious bread, we will mix our gluten-free flour with the baking powder and salt. Once we have all the dry ingredients well-mixed, we will add the warm water little by little (thus preventing lumps from forming and obtaining a more uniform dough).

Once the dough acquires its shape and ceases to stick to our fingers, we will shape it into a ball, store it in a deep container and place a damp cloth over it. In this step, we will make the dough ferment and gain in volume, so it is crucial that the dough was left for at least one hour at room temperature (provided it is a warm temperature).

Once the dough has fermented, knead it gently again and cut it to the size we want for our bread loaves.

We give the the bread its desired shape and leave it on the baking tray, covering it again with a damp cloth to extend the fermentation process for another hour.

Once the dough has risen again, we perform some incisions to the top, paint our bread with a little water and place it into the preheated oven at 200 degrees. It is important that, if our oven does not feature the option of steam baking, we place a container with water next to our bread.

After 45 minutes, (baking the bread up and down) we check our bread to see if it is ready, then let it cool on a rack.
