This delicious broccoli cream is going to take your mind off the fact that broccoli is bad, it smells bad and you don’t like it. The problem with this ingredient is that it suffers with the fame it acquired from many people who have never even tried this vegetable.
Additionally, we will not only benefit from the vitamin B9 content during the early stages of pregnancy. This vitamin, also known as folic acid, is very important for the baby´s proper development and this recipe will cover the our own, as well as the baby´s requirements.
We will need:
- One onion
- Half a kilo of peas
- Half a kilo of broccoli
- A couple of cups of lactose-free semi-skimmed milk
- A couple of cups of our vegetable broth
- Extra virgin olive oil
Preparation:
To prepare this simple broccoli cream, we will start by frying a chopped onion in a casserole dish with a dash of olive oil. When the onion begins to turn brown, add our finely-chopped broccoli and peas. Fry the ingredients for ten minutes over medium-high heat.
Once everything is well-cooked, we will add the vegetable broth (if you want to know how the vegetable broth is made, we provided you with the link to the recipe in the list of ingredients) and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Once our vegetable broth has assimilated the flavours of all the ingredients, add the milk and continue cooking until the broccoli is tender and soft. Turn off the heat and whip everything until it forms a smooth, silky cream.
You can garnish this broccoli cream with a few pieces of toasted bread (you can add gluten-free toasted bread) and decorate it with dill sprigs, all to the diner’s taste. The kids are going to love it, I swear!
